Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyrus Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gable might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Gable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cyrus Stone!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gable momentarily.

Stone shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stone was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gable really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gable is squirming around, avoiding Stone's attempts to control the action.
Gable is working to get back to half guard.
Stone tries to control but Gable wriggling away.

Stone landing strikes from the mount.
Gable tries to hold on but Stone pushes him away.
Gable regains half guard.
Gable trying to control from the bottom.
Gable is looking to improve his position.
Stone performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Gable moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gable throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Gable on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gable tries to get out of the position.
Gable keeping moving, preventing Stone from controlling successfully.
Stone stopping the sweep attempt from Gable.

Stone avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stone trying to control the position from guard on top but Gable is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gable striking off his back but it's not causing Stone any problems.
Gable is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stone connects with a single shot there.

Gable darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Stone is looking to improve his position.
Gable tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stone knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Stone regains full guard. Nicely done.

Stone controls Gable momentarily but Gable frees himself.
Gable trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gable passes Stone's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gable wants to pass to mount but Stone is defending the position.
Gable thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stone's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Cyrus Stone will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A jab from Stone finds it's way through Gable's defenses.
Gable has his takedown stuffed
and Stone counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Stone throws a right and a left that Gable avoids nicely.
Dan Gable is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gable avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stone throws a body punch but Gable moves out of range.
Gable shoots in and drives through. Stone sprawls well.
Cyrus Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stone swinging wilding here.
Stone throws a right and a left that Gable avoids nicely.
Gable throws a series of punches but Stone avoids them all with ease.

Stone swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Gable counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gable.


Stone is rocked!
Stone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stone is breathing heavily.
Gable keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stone's head.
Stone is still in real trouble! Can Gable finish him?
Gable chips away with some ground and pound.
Stone wants to sweep here but Gable controlling him for the moment.
Gable is in close to Stone's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gable content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gable cracks Stone with a solid left hand.

Gable chips away with some ground and pound.
Gable loads up on a big left hand. Stone felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Gable looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Stone can't hide his disappointment, as Gable celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Gable!
