Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Milat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Nugent! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nugent throws a sloppy body shot
letting Milat counter with a right hand. Nugent shoots for a takedown but Milat saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Nugent connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Nugent throws a jab when Milat was well out of range. Nugent throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Nugent takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Milat misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nugent.
Nugent has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Milat finds it's way round the side to connect with Nugent's head.
It looks like Ted Nugent has been cut. Nugent slips under a jab from Milat. Nugent walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Milat checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Milat pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Milat tests Nugent's chin there with a solid looking shot. Milat throws a shot from downtown. Nugent moves away and avoids it. Nugent with a lazy takedown attempt and Milat counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Milat lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nugent backs up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nugent gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Milat counters with a left to the body. Ivan Milat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Nugent. Milat blocks a head kick by Nugent.
A big right from Nugent misses. Nugent takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Milat changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Nugent looks gassed! Nugent throws a leg kick and Milat counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nugent shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nugent throws a leg kick and Milat counters with a crisp right hand that drops Nugent! Milat lets Nugent back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Nugent is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Milat throws an overhand right that drops Nugent like a sack of potatoes! Milat dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Milat! During a confident post fight interview, Ivan Milat thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
