The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esnar misses with an uppercut
and Dio cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Rock Esnar has been cut.
Dio has Esnar up against the cage in a clinch.
Esnar wants to get back to striking at distance but Dio won't allow it.
Dio breaks the clinch.
Esnar lands with a hook. Dio tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rock Esnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Esnar throws an off balance right hand
and Dio counters with a crisp one two that drops Esnar! Dio thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Esnar to his feet! Esnar is in big trouble!
Esnar is rocked!
Dio moves into range and clinches up with Esnar.
Esnar is still on wobbly legs! Can Dio finish him?
Dio is pushing Esnar up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Esnar tries to circle away but Dio has him pinned against the cage.
Esnar wants to get back to striking at distance but Dio won't allow it.
Esnar seems to have recovered his senses.
Esnar tries to break free but Dio pushes him back against the cage.
Esnar being controlled against the cage.
Dio breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Esnar takes a swing at Dio's ribcage but misses.
Esnar lands a lovely overhand right.
Dio lands with a good body shot.
Esnar looks gassed!
Dio closes the distance and clinches.
Dio breaks from the clinch.
Esnar misses with a body shot.
Dio lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Esnar loses concentration momentarily and Dio pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Esnar crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Dio finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
