The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Calais working a defensive guard but Kon passes into half guard.

Calais is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calais swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Calais, up you get!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Calais tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kon's elbow.
Calais is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Calais to the mat. Calais regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
