Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henry Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Brown!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown moves out of range as Hopkins strikes.
Brown dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tyson Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown fails with a takedown attempt.

Hopkins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hopkins tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hopkins clobbers Brown with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Brown throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hopkins avoids it really well and circles away.

Brown closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hopkins to the mat! Hopkins manages to get full guard.

Hopkins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brown!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hopkins is looking to stand but Hopkins has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Hopkins is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hopkins is now in Brown's guard. A big mistake from Brown there, giving up the dominant position!

Brown striking off his back but it's not causing Hopkins any problems.
Hopkins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Brown wants to sweep but no luck.

Brown is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Hopkins doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Brown just leaning against Hopkins, taking a breather.
Brown prevents Hopkins from breaking the clinch.

Brown has Hopkins pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Brown pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hopkins tumbling to the mat - Brown dives into Hopkins's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hopkins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

A close second round but Tyson Brown will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Hopkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Brown tries for a takedown but Hopkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Brown shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hopkins is trying to defend but Brown finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Hopkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brown's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brown's back!

Hopkins gets back to his feet. Brown is certainly not going to complain about that decision.
Brown missing with a left hand there. Hopkins was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Hopkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Brown's head.

Brown tries to clinch there but Hopkins circles away.
Brown misses with a right hand
and Hopkins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hopkins cracks Brown with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Brown looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Hopkins finish him?


Brown is rocked!
Henry Hopkins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Hopkins just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Brown has gone limp and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Henry Hopkins!
After winning the bout, Henry Hopkins thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
