Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between TJ Welsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cid Highwind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Welsh's entrance music is Lets Have A War. A fine choice. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, TJ Welsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cid Highwind! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Welsh walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Highwind lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Welsh backs up against the cage.
Welsh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Highwind was covering up waiting for the punch and Welsh finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Highwind is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Highwind working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Welsh. Welsh throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Highwind works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Welsh postures up in Highwind's guard and throws a big left but Highwind blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Welsh trying to control the position from guard on top but Highwind is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Highwind not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Welsh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Highwind has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Welsh has managed to get both his arms back between Highwind's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Welsh wants to control from the top but Highwind keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because TJ Welsh just wasn't active enough. Welsh bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Welsh goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Highwind rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Welsh's guard! Nice work there by Highwind! Welsh throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Highwind escapes and throws Welsh's legs to the side, diving into side control! Highwind is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Welsh knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Welsh tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Welsh manages to get back to half guard. Highwind is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Welsh sees it coming and defends easily. Welsh is trying to get back to full guard. Highwind is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Welsh sees it coming and defends easily. Welsh tries to roll over but Highwind keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Welsh is doing well to control the position and prevent Highwind from advancing to side control. Highwind wants to work for an arm triangle but Welsh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Highwind stops Welsh from getting back to his feet.
Welsh is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Highwind's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Highwind's back! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Highwind showing good submission defense here.

That was a close round but I would say that TJ Welsh will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Welsh is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Highwind is aware though and is defending well. Welsh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Highwind drops back looking for a leg! Welsh is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Welsh manages to kick Highwind off! Highwind jumps back into Welsh's guard. Highwind stands up from Welsh's guard - Highwind perhaps looking for a knockout. Welsh has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Welsh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Highwind as he avoids it easily. Welsh gets in close and instigates a clinch. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Highwind just misses with a elbow thrown towards Welsh's brow. Welsh is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for TJ Welsh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Welsh is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Highwind is defending well. Highwind goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Highwind pulls Welsh into guard.
Highwind tries to land a sweep but no joy. Welsh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Welsh wanted to stand there but Highwind had control of the position. Welsh wants to stand and escape but instead Highwind has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Welsh can't keep his opponent in guard - Highwind advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Welsh wants to get back to full guard but Highwind has mounted him! Welsh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Highwind on the ground. Welsh is trying to reverse the position but instead Highwind has taken his back - oops!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Highwind looking to break Welsh's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Welsh remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Highwind will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Highwind is trying to stick to Welsh's back but Welsh is turning into Highwind. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Highwind's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Welsh. Welsh slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Highwind is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Welsh is in trouble now - Highwind has advanced to mount! Welsh is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Highwind blocks Welsh's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Welsh is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Welsh tries to hold on but Highwind postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Highwind goes for an armbar but Welsh turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Welsh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cid Highwind showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Welsh shoots in and drives through. Highwind sprawls well. Highwind defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Welsh. Welsh tries to clinch up. Welsh is trying hard to land a takedown here. Highwind sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for TJ Welsh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Welsh fails with a takedown attempt. Highwind uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Welsh has time to react. Welsh has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Welsh is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Highwind is defending well for now. Welsh blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Welsh is looking to take this one to the mat. Highwind is trying to push Welsh away but Welsh has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. A nice left hand lands by Highwind.

Highwind lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Welsh backwards. Welsh manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Highwind stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Welsh swivels though and keeps the full guard. Welsh seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Welsh avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Highwind pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Welsh is keeping the position for now. Highwind throws a big elbow that misses. Highwind thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Welsh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Highwind is controlling him. Highwind is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Welsh has his foot on Highwind's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Highwind works his way back into a safe position though. Highwind wants to pass the guard but Welsh is keeping the position. Welsh wants to control the position but Highwind says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Highwind is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Highwind performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Highwind wants to pass the guard but Welsh is defending well. Welsh wants to improve his position but Highwind is controlling well.
