Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brock Wrestler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Sydal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brock Wrestler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Sydal! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wrestler tries to clinch but Sydal is having none of it. Sydal with a lazy takedown attempt so Wrestler counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sydal keeping full guard, as Wrestler tries to pass. Wrestler throws an elbow that misses. Sydal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wrestler's guard. Nice move by Sydal! Sydal preventing the sweep. Wrestler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wrestler tries to get out of the position. Sydal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sydal is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Sydal is looking to work some ground and pound but Wrestler has wrist control. Wrestler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sydal on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wrestler working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sydal. Wrestler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sydal is one step ahead there. Wrestler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sydal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sydal slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sydal scores with punches from side control. Sydal is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wrestler has escaped the position, nice work there. Sydal is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wrestler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Sydal is trying to get an arm triangle but Wrestler is defending well. Sydal wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wrestler, who protects the arm well. Sydal tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wrestler is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sydal throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Wrestler defending against the ground and pound. Sydal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sydal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sydal working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sydal swings around for an armbar but Wrestler sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sydal's guard. Sydal keeping moving, preventing Wrestler from controlling successfully. Wrestler postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sydal wants to stand up but Wrestler is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Sydal dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sydal misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Wrestler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sydal but Sydal pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sydal dives in and grabs Wrestler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wrestler pushes down on Sydal's head and hops out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sydal misses with a takedown and Wrestler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Brock Wrestler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Sydal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wrestler trying to control the position from guard on top but Sydal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wrestler throws a strike but Sydal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sydal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Sydal looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wrestler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Wrestler wants to sweep here but Sydal controlling him for the moment. Sydal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wrestler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sydal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sydal drops back looking for a leg! Wrestler is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wrestler manages to kick Sydal off! Sydal jumps back into Wrestler's guard. Sydal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Matt Sydal has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sydal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wrestler works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sydal drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wrestler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wrestler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wrestler! Sydal sneaks out the side door and pushes Wrestler away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Sydal with a lazy takedown attempt and Wrestler counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sydal won't be happy with that. Sydal parries the strikes from Wrestler easily there. Wrestler is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sydal to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sydal is not content to let Wrestler control the position. Sydal regains half guard there - taking advantage of Wrestler's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Sydal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wrestler throwing shots but Sydal is blocking nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sydal makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Brock Wrestler will probably get the nod. That's time! Wrestler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Wrestler slaps away a takedown attempt from Sydal, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sydal looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sydal seems to be working for a kimura but Wrestler defends the submission attempt. Wrestler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sydal is working away from the top position though. Sydal is trying for a kimura here. Wrestler looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Sydal wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Matt Sydal! Matt Sydal tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
