Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karl De Winter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leo Vieira will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Winter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Vieira looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Vieira is trying to buck De Winter off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. De Winter controls the position. Vieira defending against the ground and pound. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. De Winter landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Vieira takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's one minute gone in the round. De Winter moves into full mount! De Winter scoring with strikes but Vieira is staying in there. De Winter working the ground and pound effectively.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! De Winter controlling the position easily from mount. That's three minutes gone in the round. De Winter controlling from the full mount. De Winter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Vieira looks a forlorn figure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Winter has hold of Vieira's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vieira manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
De Winter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. De Winter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Winter looking to control and managing it successfully. De Winter moves into range and clinches up with Vieira. Vieira tries to land a knee to the head but De Winter blocks with his arms.

De Winter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vieira on his heels. He'll look to pass Vieira's guard now, I'm sure. De Winter sitting in guard here, content to control. De Winter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vieira swivels though and keeps the full guard. De Winter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vieira can't keep his opponent in guard - De Winter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Vieira is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Winter controlling the action here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We're going to have a standup here because Karl De Winter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. De Winter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. De Winter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Winter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vieira for as long as he can get away with. Vieira pushes De Winter off looking to stand but De Winter dives back in and keeps control.
Karl De Winter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. De Winter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. De Winter in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Vieira tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from De Winter!
