Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Brookins! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brookins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reed swivels and escapes. Reed throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brookins. Brookins throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Reed stalks Brookins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brookins's face. Brookins staggers backwards, shaken. Luke Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Reed. Brookins swats away the attempt to clinch by Reed. Brookins looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Reed! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Reed gets back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Reed avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brookins. Reed is looking to improve his position.

Brookins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Reed wants to get back to full guard. You can see the frustration on Reed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Reed is pushing Brookins's head away, looking to escape. Brookins manages to hold on to the position though. Brookins misses with a body kick. Brookins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Brookins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luke Reed. Brookins looks for the body kick but Reed saw that one coming. Brookins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reed sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brookins somewhat. Luke Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Brookins. Reed lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Reed. Reed throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Brookins shoots in and gets a takedown into Reed's guard. Reed keeping full guard, as Brookins tries to pass. Reed wants to control the position but Brookins says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Reed is trying to stand.
Brookins is thwarting Reed's attempts to control the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brookins trying to control the pace.

Paul Brookins is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luke Reed. I think Brookins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
