Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Cadge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cadge has chosen Jaws of Life as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Carwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathan Cadge! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carwin throws a series of punches but Cadge avoids them all with ease. Cadge shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Carwin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut. Cadge looks to throw the jab but Carwin is out of range. Cadge avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carwin walks into a straight right hand from Cadge. Carwin throws a body punch but Cadge moves out of range. Carwin throws a looping overhand right but Cadge ducks down to avoid it. Cadge connects with a crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carwin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cadge walks into a straight right hand from Carwin. Cadge shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Cadge uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carwin.

Cadge works the jab nicely. Cadge shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Cadge thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cadge thows a huge punch but Carwin dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cadge scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Shane Carwin's cut is getting worse. Cadge tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carwin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Cadge throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Cadge wants to pass the guard but Carwin is defending well. Cadge frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Cadge misses with a head shot. Carwin manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Carwin, under a barage of strikes from Cadge.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Carwin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Cadge won't allow Carwin to sweep him here. Carwin trying to control the position.
Cadge advances to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cadge missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cadge missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Carwin tries to get to full guard but Cadge has control of the leg. Cadge is trying to control the action in half guard but Carwin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carwin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cadge thows a huge punch but Carwin dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carwin wants to control but Cadge is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cadge really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carwin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cadge wants to pass the guard but Carwin is defending well. Cadge not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cadge working the head and body with strikes.
Shane Carwin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Cadge is just content to waste time from the top position. Carwin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Cadge must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cadge stands and throws Carwin's legs to the side, diving into side control. Check out the look on Cadge's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Jeez, Shane Carwin's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
