Read comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hatebreed-Destroy Everything kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Read wants to clinch but Jeferson slips to the side
and Jeferson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jeferson throws a big elbow that misses.
Read has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jeferson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Read is working an open guard so Jeferson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Read darts in trying to clinch
and Jeferson counters with a single leg into guard. Read didn't expect that.
Read is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Read escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jeferson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jeferson is sitting in close to Read's body. Read has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jeferson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jeferson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Read.
