Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Cartez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spanch Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartez is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Cartez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spanch Bob! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bob is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cartez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cartez is breathing heavily. Bob shoots in but no luck this time. Bob gets the takedown into side control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Cartez is being controlled here. It looks like Bob might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Spanch Bob. Bob shoots in but no luck this time. Charles Cartez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spanch Bob. Bob scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Bob stalling. Bob is looking to advance position but Cartez won't allow it. Bob seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Spanch Bob wasn't active enough on the ground. Bob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cartez is fending him off so far but Bob persists. Nope, Cartez circles away and we're back to standing. Bob shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bob showed some decent athleticism there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bob looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Bob is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bob uses his free foot to push down on Cartez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cartez. Bob tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Spanch Bob dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bob fails with a takedown attempt. Bob throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cartez was covering up waiting for the punch and Bob finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cartez being controlled here, momentarily. Bob looking to pass the guard. Bob controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartez wants to get back to his feet but Bob is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bob is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Spanch Bob has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Bob looks for a takedown but Cartez sprawls well. Bob shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Cartez is on queer street and Bob is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Spanch Bob!
