Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simba Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine has chosen Megadeth-Kill the King as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Valentine there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Burns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Valentine is fending him off so far but Burns persists. Nope, Valentine circles away and we're back to standing.
Valentine pushes Burns up against the ropes in a clinch.
Burns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Burns misses with a takedown attempt - Valentine sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Burns connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Burns tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valentine swivels and escapes.

Burns throws a series of punches but Valentine moves out of range.
Valentine moves in looking to clinch but Burns pushes him off.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Valentine.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Valentine fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burns, pushing him back against the ropes.
with the fighters clinched against the ropes, Valentine creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Valentine stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Simba Burns has been cut.
Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Valentine sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Valentine closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Burns drops down looking for an ankle pick but Valentine pulls his leg out and moves away.

Burns jumps guard but Valentine stands there with Burns around his waist. Burns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Valentine counters with a nice low kick that buckles Burns's knee momentarily.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Valentine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Valentine is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Burns circles away from the clinch attempt.
Burns shoots in for a takedown but Valentine shows good takedown defense.
Burns misses with a wild combination.
A combination from Valentine does no damage.
Simba Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Burns. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Burns closes the distance and clinches up with Valentine, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes Valentine against the ropes but Valentine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Valentine really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Burns manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valentine manages to get himself to full guard.
Burns seems to have got his legs back now.

Burns is looking to stand up but Valentine won't let him.

and Valentine counters with a left and a right that hurts Burns! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Valentine jumps into full mount!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burns tries to reverse the position but Valentine maintains control.

Burns bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Valentine has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Burns wants to pass the guard but Valentine is keeping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Valentine throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Burns thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Burns wants to control from the top but Valentine keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Burns throws a series of punches but Valentine moves out of range.
Valentine scores with a one two! Burns had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Valentine lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Valentine feints and then cracks Burns's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Burns down.
Valentine will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Valentine throws a leg kick which misses Burns's front leg but catches the back leg as Burns tries to avoid it.
Remy Valentine seems to be getting the better of the standup.
