The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veljko blocks a low kick nicely.
Veljko connects with a high kick.

and Veljko counters with a good low kick that Gibbs was not able to check.
Veljko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Veljko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gibbs did well to prevent Veljko getting side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Veljko is taking a breather. Gibbs says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Veljko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gibbs's head.

Veljko is pressing down on Gibbs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gibbs is holding on for now.

Gibbs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Veljko pulls his head out easily.

Gibbs has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Veljko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Veljko counters with a head kick. That will keep Gibbs thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Veljko batters Gibbs with a massive right followed by a huge left! Gibbs is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Veljko lands a final crushing right hand to drop Gibbs to the mat with a gruesome thud! Veljko is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
