The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carraretto changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Carraretto passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rotten!
Carraretto throws a strike there. Rotten manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

Carraretto lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Rotten is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carraretto defends well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rotten wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Carraretto tried to score with a low kick but Rotten checks it.
Rotten shoots in looking for a takedown. Carraretto tries to sprawl out of it but Rotten keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carraretto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rotten is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carraretto.

Carraretto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rotten was covering up waiting for the punch and Carraretto finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Manuel Carraretto will probably get the nod.
