PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kit Fisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erick Odom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fisto has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisto moves out of range as Odom throws a body kick.

Odom shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fisto being controlled here, momentarily.
Let's hope that Odom has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Fisto is working an open guard so Odom takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Odom is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fisto sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Odom wants to clinch.
Fisto circles away from the clinch attempt.

Good work by Fisto as he checks the leg kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Odom.

Odom has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Fisto throws a nice looking combination but Odom bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fisto slips under a jab from Odom.
Fisto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Odom as he avoids it easily.
Fisto is breathing heavily.
Fisto throws a solid leg kick but Odom takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Fisto.

Odom changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fisto tries to avoid it but Odom manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fisto to the ground. Fisto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kit Fisto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erick Odom.
Odom shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fisto sprawls well. Fisto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Odom gets slowly back to his feet.
Odom throws a sloppy head kick and Fisto moves out of range easily.

Odom instigates a clinch.

Odom turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Odom thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fisto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Odom on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Fisto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Odom controls the position.

Fisto is trying to buck Odom off.
Odom tries to move to mount but Fisto blocks the move with his legs.

Odom decides to stand back up. Odom steps back and let's Fisto get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Odom fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fisto avoids it really well and circles away.
Odom moves out of range as Fisto throws a body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erick Odom dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Odom has a takedown stuffed.
Odom throws a sloppy head kick and Fisto moves out of range easily.

Fisto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fisto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Odom striking off his back but it's not causing Fisto any problems.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Odom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fisto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fisto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Odom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fisto's guard.

Odom scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Odom showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Fisto can't keep his opponent in guard - Odom advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Odom maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fisto could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Odom has cracked it and Fisto is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Odom!
