Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Finch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Lack! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Lack. Those never looked like landing. Finch misses with a head kick.
Lack scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Finch looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A low kick from Finch misses and Lack counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Finch bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Lack misses the shot to the body. Finch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lack. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Finch throws a leg kick that misses. Finch throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Lack throws a looping overhand right but Finch ducks down to avoid it. Lack avoids a kick to the body.
Lack misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Finch.
Lack connects with a body shot. Lack takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Finch wants to land a leg kick but Lack is out of range. Bob Finch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lack scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Finch tries a head kick but it misses.
Lack misses with a wild combination.
Lack throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch throws a shot from downtown. Lack moves away and avoids it. Finch wants to land a leg kick but Lack is out of range. Lack listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Lack tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Finch was well out of range. Poor timing from Lack. A looping hook to the body misses from Finch. Lack does a little dance to reset his feet. Finch throws a head kick that Lack semi-blocks.
Lack drops Finch with a right and a left! Lack comes rushing in but Finch regains his composure and manages to keep Lack in guard.
Finch is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Lack landing some decent shots from guard. Oh Finch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lack gets to his feet and stands over Finch, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Finch felt that one! Lack unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Finch from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Lack! Joe Lack decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
