Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Pemberton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Mufasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micheal Pemberton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Mufasa! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mufasa gets caught flat footed, as Pemberton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Mufasa working for a triangle but Pemberton defends it easily.
Mufasa looking for a sweep. Not yet Mufasa, not yet. Pemberton wants to control from the top but Mufasa keeps moving. Mufasa working for a triangle but Pemberton defends it easily.
Pemberton controlling from the top position. Pemberton stopping the sweep attempt from Mufasa. Pemberton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mufasa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pemberton wanted to stand there but Mufasa had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mufasa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pemberton is one step ahead there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mufasa doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pemberton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mufasa won't be happy with that. Mufasa looks gassed! Pemberton tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mufasa's legs. Pemberton decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mufasa to his feet. Mufasa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Pemberton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mufasa's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pemberton is pushing down on Mufasa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mufasa is fighting to maintain full guard but Pemberton has managed to sneak the leg through. Pemberton wants to control but Mufasa is keeping him busy. Mufasa works his way to full guard. Good work. Mufasa trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mufasa is on top in guard.
Mufasa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Mufasa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mufasa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pemberton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mufasa drops back looking for a leg! Pemberton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pemberton manages to kick Mufasa off! Mufasa jumps back into Pemberton's guard. Pemberton is trying to keep Mufasa in close.
Pemberton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mufasa stands up from guard. Let's bang! Pemberton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mufasa to the mat! Mufasa manages to get full guard. Mufasa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pemberton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mufasa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pemberton's back instead. Mufasa is not going to allow Pemberton to sit and survive in this position. Oooh a big shot gets through from Mufasa. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Mufasa working for a choke but Pemberton is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pemberton trying to control but not successfully. Pemberton defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Mufasa's arms. Mufasa gets his hands free as Pemberton looks to control. Mufasa looking to break Pemberton's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Pemberton remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mufasa will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Pemberton is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Pemberton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Mufasa goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pemberton is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pemberton looking to pass the guard. Pemberton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mufasa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pemberton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pemberton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pemberton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mufasa throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mufasa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pemberton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mufasa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pemberton's back instead. Pemberton breaks Mufasa's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mufasa is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Pemberton frees his head nicely. Oh but Mufasa has switched to an armbar! Pemberton is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). King Mufasa!
