Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derya Sevket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sevket is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by In the Club. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alistair Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derya Sevket!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Thompson blocks the strikes from Sevket.
Sevket works his way to full guard. Good work.
Sevket has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sevket manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sevket throws a leg kick which misses Thompson's front leg but catches the back leg as Thompson tries to avoid it.
Thompson tries to clinch up but Sevket circles away and keeps his distance.
Sevket swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sevket avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sevket swinging wildly here.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch but Sevket swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thompson. Sevket does a little dance to reset his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thompson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sevket shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thompson sprawls well. Thompson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sevket gets slowly back to his feet.
Sevket changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thompson tries to avoid it but Sevket manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thompson to the ground. Thompson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thompson moves to clinch but Sevket breaks away
and Sevket counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Thompson!
The referee warns Thompson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sevket is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sevket extends the arm and Thompson is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Derya Sevket!
