PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Crier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes into the arena with Thugs blaring out of the sound system. Crier has chosen Red Hot Chili Peppers - Get On Top as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Crier!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Crier misses.
Walker misses with a combination
enabling Crier to counter with a crisp jab.
Walker lands a nice leg kick that just misses Crier's sensitive parts.
Crier closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Walker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Crier avoids the head kick by Walker.
Crier takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Johnny Crier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Walker as Crier shoots in.
Crier keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Crier moves away from the strike by Walker.
Walker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Walker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Crier keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Walker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Crier.
Crier takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Crier looks for a takedown but Walker sprawls well.
Stevie Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Crier.
Walker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crier.
Walker looks to land a left hand but Crier moved out of range nicely.
Walker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Crier.

The fighters circling - Crier throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

It looks like Johnny Crier has been cut.
Walker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Walker throws a big shot that misses.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Crier.
Walker takes a swing at Crier's ribcage but misses.
Nice takedown defense from Walker. No joy for Crier on that attempt.
Crier takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Walker lands a nice hook to Crier's body. Crier takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Walker throws a sloppy head kick and Crier moves out of range easily.
Crier misses with a straight right.
Walker scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Walker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Crier's head.
Crier misses with a lunging right hand
and Walker counters with a thumping low kick.
Walker is looking to wear down Crier with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Crier looks gassed!
Crier moves into range and connects with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crier pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Crier shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Walker pinned against the cage. Walker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crier swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Walker counters with an inside leg kick.
Crier takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Walker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Crier.
Crier uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Walker.
Walker bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Crier's head backwards.
Walker lands a jab to Crier's midsection.
Crier scores with a nice strike.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Walker tries a head kick but it misses.
Walker throws a nice outside leg kick.
Crier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevie Walker dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Johnny Crier's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Walker connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Walker lands a head kick. Crier smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Walker buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Walker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Walker misses the shot to the body.
Crier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Walker moves away.
Walker connects with a high kick.


That has opened up Johnny Crier's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Walker throws a sloppy head kick and Crier moves out of range easily.

Walker works Crier's body with a nice hook.
Walker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crier was well out of range. Poor timing from Walker.

Crier takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Crier is trying desperately to land a takedown but Walker is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Crier.
Crier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walker defends it nicely.
Crier is breathing heavily.
Walker has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Walker misses with a wild body shot.
Walker cracks Crier with a good jab.

Walker lets loose with a powerful body kick. Crier will feel that in the morning.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walker lands a leg kick that knocks Crier off balance momentarily.
Nice straight punches there by Walker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Walker.
Stevie Walker is winning the standup battle so far.
Walker tries to score with a low kick but Crier moves his leg out of the way.
Crier misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Walker throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Crier on the side of the head.
Crier misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Walker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Walker digs a good hook to Crier's body.
Walker explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Walker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Walker throws a right hand that Crier ducks under and follows up with a left that Crier also avoids with ease.
Stevie Walker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crier fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stevie Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Crier.

Crier throws the left hand but Walker avoids the punch easily.
Crier walks into a jab.
Walker throws a leg kick which misses Crier's front leg but catches the back leg as Crier tries to avoid it.
Walker lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Walker moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Crier is rocked!


The cut above Johnny Crier's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Crier is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Crier is still on wobbly legs! Can Walker finish him?
Walker connects with a body shot that sends Crier's belly button to the back.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Crier might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Walker has got the better of the exchanges.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walker throws a monster overhand right that drops Crier! Walker follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
