Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Fortin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sendou Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Fortin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sendou Takeshi! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeshi dives in and grabs Fortin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fortin pushes down on Takeshi's head and hops out. Fortin clinches. Fortin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Takeshi blocks it with crossed arms. Takeshi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Fortin's face.
It looks like Mike Fortin has been cut. Takeshi throws a knee to the head but misses.
Takeshi is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Fortin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Takeshi uses from the top position. Takeshi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fortin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fortin pulls Takeshi in close to prevent any damage. Fortin is trying to keep Takeshi in close.
Fortin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Takeshi!
That's one minute gone in the round. Fortin trying to control but Takeshi is having none of it. Fortin has hold of Takeshi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Takeshi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Takeshi tries to lock up and control but Fortin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fortin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Fortin wants to finish this one by submission but Takeshi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fortin. Fortin working for a submission but Takeshi is keeping him at bay.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fortin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Takeshi is looking to escape. Fortin stands up from mount. Strange move. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fortin misses with a series of wild punches.
Takeshi throws a low kick but Fortin avoids it. Takeshi blocks a head kick by Fortin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fortin gets a clinch. Takeshi tries to land a knee to the head but Fortin blocks with his arms.

Takeshi putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Fortin in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Fortin blocks an elbow strike. Fortin misses with an elbow strike.
Takeshi throws a knee to the head but misses.
Fortin goes for a takedown attempt but Takeshi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A punch combination from Fortin misses. Fortin tries for a takedown but Takeshi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Nice elbow from Takeshi. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Takeshi has Fortin pressed against the cage.

Takeshi creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fortin's defenses. Fortin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Takeshi obliges. This has been an exciting period of action! Takeshi tries a knee to the head but Fortin blocks it.
Fortin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Takeshi to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Fortin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fortin is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fortin being controlled against the cage. Takeshi lands a good knee to the midsection. Fortin won't want to take too many of those. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Fortin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mike Fortin's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Fortin keeps the fight on the outside. Takeshi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fortin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fortin shoots in but no luck this time. Takeshi tries to clinch up but Fortin circles away and keeps his distance. Fortin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Takeshi sprawls well. Takeshi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fortin gets slowly back to his feet. Fortin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Fortin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takeshi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Fortin swats away the attempt to clinch by Takeshi. Takeshi stuffs the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fortin darts in and clinches Takeshi up against the cage. Fortin avoiding damage as Takeshi throws knees to the body.
Fortin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Takeshi regains guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fortin wants to control from the top but Takeshi keeps moving. Fortin tries to stand but Takeshi is controlling from the bottom. Fortin passes into half guard. Takeshi manages to escape and get back to his feet! Fortin closes the distance and clinches.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takeshi comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Takeshi lands a nice knee to the body. Fortin managing to block the knees to the body from Takeshi.

Fortin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Takeshi displaying some good clinch control by pressing Fortin up against the cage. Takeshi creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Fortin avoiding damage as Takeshi throws knees to the body.
Sendou Takeshi seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fortin tries to pull guard but Takeshi won't allow it.
Fortin is trying to drag Takeshi to the mat but Takeshi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Takeshi misses with a knee strike.
Takeshi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fortin avoids it. Fortin tries to pull guard but Takeshi holds him up against the cage and eventually Fortin drops back down to his feet.
Fortin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Fortin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Takeshi lands an elbow that stopped Fortin in his tracks for a moment. Takeshi has Fortin pressed against the cage.
Fortin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fortin jumps guard but Takeshi stands there with Fortin around his waist. Fortin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Takeshi stalls. A battle for position here, against the cage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Takeshi. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Takeshi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Takeshi lands an elbow that stopped Fortin in his tracks for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sendou Takeshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mike Fortin's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Fortin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Takeshi's half guard. Fortin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Takeshi wants to control but Fortin is keeping busy and won't allow it. Fortin working Takeshi over with strikes. Fortin is trying to control the action in half guard but Takeshi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fortin prevents Takeshi from improving his position. Fortin is looking for a kimura but Takeshi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fortin to get the leverage. Mike Fortin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Takeshi is trying to stand back up but Fortin is controlling him
Fortin works his way into full mount! Takeshi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeshi squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Fortin wants to control the pace but Takeshi is squirming around nicely. Fortin controlling from the full mount. Fortin landing punches. Fortin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Takeshi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fortin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fortin lands a nice shot to the head. Fortin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Takeshi is looking to escape. Fortin is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Takeshi is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Takeshi flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Fortin anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Takeshi and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Fortin slips an arm under Takeshi chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Fortin has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Fortin is squeezing on Takeshi like an anaconda would it's prey. Takeshi fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
