Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Earts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Earts!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Earts lands.
Earts showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Page.
Page pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Earts drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Earts controlling from the top position.
Page is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Earts sitting in guard here, content to control.
Page wants to stand but Earts is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Earts will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Page misses with a hook
and Earts counters with a nice body shot.
Page connects with a nice looking jab.
Earts uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Page.
Earts walks into a straight right hand from Page.
Earts avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Page on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Earts.
Page rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Earts decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Page's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Page wants to stand and escape but Earts is having none of it.
Earts looking to pass the guard.
Page wants to get back to his feet but Earts is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Earts distracts Page with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Page is looking to stand up but Earts isn't so interested in that idea.
Earts is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Earts prevents Page from getting back to his feet.
Page trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Earts slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Earts is trying hard to land a takedown here. Page sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kenny Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Earts.

Page throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Page thuds his right hand into Earts's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Earts showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Page.
Page throws a predictable looking body shot

and Earts counters with a nice double leg into side control. Page won't be happy with that.
Page is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Earts has just dragged him back down to the mat.
A lull in the action here.
Page wants to get back to his feet.
Page is breathing heavily.
Earts is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Page's shoulder. That is not cool.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Page on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Page tries to get out of the position.
Page wants to get back to his feet but Earts is dominant here and he's now got Page's back!

I would not like to be Page right now.
Earts scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Page trying to get back to his feet but Earts is in full control for now.
Page is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Earts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Earts dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Earts manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Page on his heels. He'll look to pass Page's guard now, I'm sure.
Page is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Page will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Earts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Page is looking to stand up but Earts isn't so interested in that idea.
Earts slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Page wants to get back to his feet but Earts is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Earts throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Page's waist but Page gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Earts off to one side.
Page misses with a lunging right hand
and Earts counters with a nice body shot.

Earts fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Page sprawls well initially but Earts persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Earts stops Page from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Earts trying to pass the guard but Page defending well.
Earts is taking a breather. Page says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Earts wants to pass to mount but Page is defending the position.
Page is trying to stand back up but Earts is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Page throws a body punch but Earts moves out of range.
Kenny Page is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Earts clinches up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Page drags the fight down to the ground.
Earts controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Page wants to stand and escape but Earts is having none of it.
Earts showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Page is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Earts's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Earts was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Page throws a jab but it's blocked by Earts.
Earts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Page is fending him off so far but Earts persists. Nope, Page circles away and we're back to standing.
Page misses the shot to the body.
Page throws a hook to the side of Earts's head but Earts sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Earts shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Page as he jumps to the side.
Kenny Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Earts.
Page missing with a left hand there. Earts was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Earts fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Page misses with a double jab.
Page throws an off balance right hand

and Earts counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Page's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Page pushes Earts off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Page closes the distance looking to clinch

and Earts counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Page!


Page is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Earts controlling from the full mount.
Oh Page is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Let's hope that Earts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Earts lands a heavy elbow.
Earts looking to control and managing it successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Earts looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Earts lands a big shot to the head and Page winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
