Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Velazquez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Velazquez back to the cage. Khan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Khan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Velazquez defends it nicely.
Khan shoots in looking for a takedown. Velazquez tries to sprawl out of it but Khan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Velazquez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Khan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Velazquez is fending him off so far but Khan persists. Nope, Velazquez circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Khan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters circling - Velazquez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Velazquez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Khan's head backwards.

Velazquez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Khan sprawling to the canvas! Khan rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Velazquez finish him?!


Khan is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Khan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Velazquez pinned against the cage. Velazquez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oh Khan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Velazquez misses with the combination.

Velazquez cracks Khan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Khan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Velazquez finish him?
Velazquez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Khan.
OH! Khan has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Velazquez smells blood and charges in for the finish! Velazquez unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Khan sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Juan Velazquez!
A very excited looking Juan Velazquez made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
