PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Dobari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragon has chosen my life as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angelo Dobari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Dragon!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragon stuffs the takedown attempt from Dobari. Dobari gets slowly back to his feet.
Dragon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dobari counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Angelo Dobari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dragon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Dobari counters by clinching up.
Dobari drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Dobari breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dobari forces Dragon back against the cage and clinches.
Dobari goes for a takedown attempt but Dragon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angelo Dobari. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dobari tries to clinch there but Dragon circles away.

and Dragon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dragon.

Dobari manages to break the clinch.
Dobari moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

so Dragon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dragon drops back looking for a leg! Dobari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dobari manages to kick Dragon off! Dragon jumps back into Dobari's guard.

Dragon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dobari is looking for a triangle but Dragon pushes his legs off easily.
Dragon trying to control but Dobari is working from the bottom.
Dragon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dragon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dobari dives on top into guard.
Dragon looks gassed!
Dragon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dragon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Dragon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dobari swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dragon stands up and waves to Dobari to follow him.
Dobari clinches but Dragon breaks the clinch
and Dragon counters with a good low kick that Dobari was not able to check.

Dragon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dobari is trying to stand back up but Dragon is controlling him

Dragon tries to pass to full mount but Dobari defends it.
Dragon prevents Dobari from improving his position.

Dragon decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dobari cracks Dragon with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dobari fails with the takedown
and Dragon counters with a nice uppercut.
Dobari gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dragon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dobari's guard now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dragon advances to half guard.
Dragon scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Dragon lands strikes from half guard.
Dragon trying to control the action but Dobari is working from the bottom.
Dobari is trying to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dobari wants to control but Dragon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dragon is looking to take a break and control but Dobari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Dragon dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dobari doesn't manage to clinch there - Dragon circles away.

Dobari changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dragon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dobari tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dragon's legs.
Dragon managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Dobari.

Dobari will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dobari decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Dragon counters with a single leg into guard. Dobari didn't expect that.

Dragon is breathing heavily.

Dobari is working hard here to advance position.

Dobari throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dragon escapes and throws Dobari's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Dragon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dragon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dragon avoids the strikes from the bottom by Dobari.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dragon thows a huge punch but Dobari dodges it nicely.

Dragon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dragon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dragon has hold of Dobari's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dobari manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dragon cracks Dobari with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Dragon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dobari is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dragon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dobari hang on?

and Dragon counters with a nice uppercut.

and Dragon counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dragon drops back looking for a leg! Dobari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dobari manages to kick Dragon off! Dragon jumps back into Dobari's guard.

Dragon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dobari looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dobari looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dobari!

Dobari decides to stand back up.
Dragon works over Dobari's head and body with a nice combination.
Dobari chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dragon can pounce on him.
Dragon waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Dobari.
Dragon misses with a takedown attempt - Dobari sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dragon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dobari.

Dobari moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Dragon lands a couple of elbows.
Dragon passes Dobari's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dobari won't allow Dragon to pass to mount.
Dobari has hold of Dragon's hands but Dragon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Dragon misses with a head shot. Dobari uses the momentum to regain guard.

Angelo Dobari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dobari has given up his back. Will we see Dragon going for some submissions?

Jake Dragon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dragon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
