Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikhael Ruzinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenan Groso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Groso has chosen Bosnian National Anthem as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikhael Ruzinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenan Groso!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruzinski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Groso as he jumps to the side.
Groso drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ruzinski lands a high kick!
Ruzinski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Groso misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ruzinski.

Groso gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Groso is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruzinski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Groso is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ruzinski is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ruzinski takes the fight into the clinch.

Groso breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Groso fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ruzinski scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Groso bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ruzinski's head backwards.
Groso throws a hook to the side of Ruzinski's head but Ruzinski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Groso darts in trying to clinch
and Ruzinski counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Ruzinski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Groso throws a looping overhand right but Ruzinski ducks down to avoid it.

Ruzinski instigates a clinch.
Groso is trying to break free.

Ruzinski has clasped his hands together around Groso's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Ruzinski staying calm.
Ruzinski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ruzinski throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Groso is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ruzinski connects with a decent elbow.
Groso tries to escape but Ruzinski is in control.

Ruzinski is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Groso's shoulder. That is not cool.
Groso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruzinski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Groso is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ruzinski is controlling him well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Ruzinski tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Groso tries to escape but Ruzinski is in control.
Ruzinski cracks Groso with a big elbow.
Groso is pushing Ruzinski's head away, looking to escape. Ruzinski manages to hold on to the position though.

Ruzinski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Groso has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


The fighters circling - Groso throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ruzinski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Groso as he avoids it easily.
Ruzinski is looking to clinch.
Groso throws a leg kick which misses Ruzinski's front leg but catches the back leg as Ruzinski tries to avoid it.
Groso throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Groso misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Groso throws a jab but it's blocked by Ruzinski.
Groso walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ruzinski checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Groso swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Ruzinski counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Groso jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Groso wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ruzinski has him pressed against the cage.

Ruzinski drops down looking for an ankle pick but Groso pulls his leg out and moves away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Ruzinski counters with a head kick. That will keep Groso thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Groso is looking to control Ruzinski's arms but Ruzinski gets an underhook and turns him. Now Groso has his back to the cage.

Ruzinski connects with a stiff jab that staggers Groso - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
