Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Carlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Schnee Wittchen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wittchen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Can't be touched kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Carlo! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Schnee Wittchen! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlo dips to his left and cracks Wittchen with an uppercut! Wittchen works over Carlo's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Jim Carlo has been cut. Carlo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Wittchen - that will leave a mark!
Wittchen misses with a wild combination.
Wittchen connects with a leg kick. Carlo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Wittchen connects with a body shot. Wittchen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carlo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carlo walks into a stiff left hand from Wittchen. A nice inside leg kick there by Wittchen. That's going to slow Carlo down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Carlo dives in and grabs Wittchen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wittchen pushes down on Carlo's head and hops out. Carlo throws a body punch but Wittchen moves out of range. Carlo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carlo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wittchen as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Carlo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wittchen scoring well with a low kick there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Good work by Carlo as he checks the leg kick. Wittchen throws a low kick, looking for Carlo's leg but Carlo calmly moves out of range. Carlo takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Some bone on bone action there as Carlo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carlo. Wittchen moves out of range as Carlo strikes. Wittchen throws a body punch but Carlo moves out of range. Carlo scores with a jab. Wittchen acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wittchen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carlo has time to react. Carlo misses with a takedown and Wittchen counters with a straight right hand. Wittchen's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Wittchen duly obliges. Carlo shoots in looking for a takedown but Wittchen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wittchen clinches. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carlo tries to break free but Wittchen pushes him back against the cage. Wittchen tries to land a knee to the head but Carlo blocks with his arms.
Carlo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wittchen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Carlo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wittchen just stands there and leans against the cage. Carlo can't get the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wittchen is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Carlo is breathing heavily. Wittchen effectively controlling the action here. Carlo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wittchen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Wittchen scores with a knee to the head.
Jim Carlo's cut is getting worse. Carlo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wittchen to keep the fight standing. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Carlo. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Carlo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Carlo has Wittchen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Carlo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wittchen tumbling to the mat - Carlo dives into Wittchen's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wittchen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wittchen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wittchen but Wittchen pushes him off and we're back to square one. Wittchen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Carlo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlo is trying to work for a kimura but Wittchen is defending well.
Carlo prevents Wittchen from improving his position. Carlo is working for a kimura but Wittchen is defending it quite comfortably.
Wittchen regains full guard. Nicely done. Carlo is looking to work some ground and pound but Wittchen has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlo with a flurry of punches that miss. Carlo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carlo throwing strikes but missing. Wittchen wants to sweep but no luck. Carlo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carlo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wittchen looking for a sweep. Not yet Wittchen, not yet. Carlo wants to control from the top but Wittchen keeps moving. Wittchen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlo drops back looking for a leg! Wittchen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wittchen manages to kick Carlo off! Carlo jumps back into Wittchen's guard. Carlo throws a big elbow that misses. Wittchen wants to sweep but no luck. Wittchen looking to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Carlo postures up in Wittchen's guard and throws a big left but Wittchen blocks it. Carlo passes Wittchen's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wittchen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wittchen wants to get back to his feet. Carlo is trying to work for a kimura but Wittchen is defending well.
Wittchen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carlo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carlo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wittchen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Carlo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wittchen sees it coming and defends easily. Carlo is looking to take a break and control but Wittchen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carlo seems to be looking for submissions.

Carlo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wittchen is keeping the position for now. Carlo trying to control but Wittchen is working from the bottom. The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Carlo wasn't doing enough on the ground. Carlo cracks Wittchen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Nice shot by Wittchen. Carlo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Carlo misses with an uppercut. Wittchen saw that one coming. Wittchen looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Carlo checks a leg kick. Wittchen throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wittchen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carlo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Carlo closes the distance and clinches up with Wittchen, looking for a takedown. Carlo pushes Wittchen against the cage but Wittchen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Wittchen defending well as Carlo loads up on a big left hand. A close third round but Schnee Wittchen just about did enough to take it. The cut man is working on Jim Carlo's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Wittchen throws a right hand that Carlo ducks under and follows up with a left that Carlo also avoids with ease. Wittchen throws a head kick that misses. Nice takedown defense from Wittchen. No joy for Carlo on that attempt. Wittchen fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Carlo on the side of the head. Carlo tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A telegraphed right hand from Carlo misses the target. A good leg kick by Wittchen. Good leg kick by Wittchen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wittchen stuffs the takedown attempt from Carlo. Carlo gets slowly back to his feet. Wittchen misses with a looping left. A big right from Carlo misses. Wittchen throws a right and a left that Carlo avoids nicely. Wittchen avoids the body shot from Carlo.
Carlo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wittchen is fending him off so far but Carlo persists. Nope, Wittchen circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Carlo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carlo lunges at Wittchen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wittchen's hand. Carlo fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carlo. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Wittchen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carlo. Wittchen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice sprawl there from Wittchen as Carlo shoots in. Wittchen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Carlo's calf. Carlo checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Wittchen slaps away a takedown attempt from Carlo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlo throws a leg kick but Wittchen moved away. Nice cross by Wittchen. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carlo. Carlo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wittchen moves away. Carlo keeps the fight on the outside. Carlo misses the shot to the body. Wittchen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carlo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wittchen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Carlo shoots in looking for a takedown. Wittchen tries to sprawl out of it but Carlo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wittchen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wittchen thows a body shot but no joy. Nice shot lands for Wittchen. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wittchen lands a high kick!

Schnee Wittchen dominated that fourth round. The cut man is working on Jim Carlo's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
An inside leg kick lands from Carlo. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carlo. Wittchen throws a shot from downtown. Carlo moves away and avoids it. Wittchen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Carlo is able to avoid easily. Carlo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wittchen swings widly with a right hand
and Carlo counters with a stiff right hand. Nice body punch from Wittchen. Carlo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Wittchen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Schnee Wittchen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Carlo dives in and grabs Wittchen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wittchen pushes down on Carlo's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Carlo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carlo scores with a hook. Carlo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Carlo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wittchen momentarily.

Carlo shoots in but Wittchen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Carlo throws a right hand that misses
and Wittchen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A chopping leg kick lands by Wittchen. Carlo shoots for a double leg takedown but Wittchen sprawls well. He's pushed Carlo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Carlo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wittchen to score with a decent uppercut. Wittchen throws a combination. Carlo tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wittchen throws a series of punches but Carlo avoids them all with ease. Wittchen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wittchen takes a swing at Carlo's ribcage but misses. Wittchen throws a quick inside leg kick. Carlo shoots in for a takedown but Wittchen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nice shot by Wittchen. Wittchen cracks the inside of Carlo's front leg. Carlo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Jim Carlo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Schnee Wittchen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wittchen throws a leg kick but Carlo checks it. Schnee Wittchen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Wittchen stuffs the takedown attempt from Carlo. Carlo gets slowly back to his feet. A punch combination from Wittchen misses. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carlo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wittchen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carlo just misses with a punch to the body.
