Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maurice Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Boxing Bjj! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bjj lands with a kick to the temple. Cote shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Maurice Cote seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cote misses with a straight right. Bjj scores with a head kick. Cote tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Cote is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bjj's half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Cote lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
It looks like Boxing Bjj has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cote takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bjj makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bjj. Bjj working for a triangle but Cote defends it easily.
Bjj is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well. Bjj manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round. Cote holds on for dear life, controlling Bjj's posture momentarily. Cote is trying to escape the mount.
Bjj wants to control the pace but Cote is squirming around nicely. Cote wants to hold on but Bjj pushes him away. Cote defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bjj. Bjj is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cote has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bjj working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Cote is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bjj swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
