Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nao Sakumichi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Beugina Unki!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakumichi stuffs the takedown.
Unki gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Sakumichi shoots in and gets a takedown into Unki's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sakumichi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Unki wants to sweep but no luck.

Sakumichi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sakumichi connects with a nice short shot to Unki's temple.
Sakumichi uses his free foot to push down on Unki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Unki.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Poor strikes thrown by Sakumichi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee warns Unki that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Unki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sakumichi is nestled in close to Unki, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
