Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glenn Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles St Something!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

St Something tries to keep at a distance but Hughes has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hughes lands a nice elbow.

St Something is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hughes to keep the fight standing.

Hughes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

St Something shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hughes as he jumps to the side.

Hughes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with St Something, pushing him back against the cage.
St Something wants to take the fight to the mat but Hughes manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Glenn Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles St Something.
Hughes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through St Something's defenses.

Hughes rushes St Something and presses him up against the cage.
St Something jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hughes walks away with a smile on his face. St Something gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
St Something seems to have recovered his senses.
Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch up but St Something swats him away and circles back towards the center.

St Something shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hughes as he avoids it easily.
No luck for St Something with that takedown attempt.

Hughes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

St Something might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hughes kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Charles St Something wasn't active enough on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Hughes closes the distance and pushes St Something back into the cage.

St Something is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hughes is just riding it out for now. St Something eventually gives up the hold.

Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

He pushes St Something back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Hughes throws a beautiful elbow that sends St Something crashing to the floor! Hughes piles on the pressure with more strikes! St Something is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
