Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ronaldo De Sousa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pete Wilson! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Wilson. Wilson throws a jab but it's blocked by De Sousa. Wilson slaps away a takedown attempt from De Sousa, before circling back to the center of the mat. De Sousa shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. De Sousa lands a slapping body shot.
De Sousa thows a left - swing and a miss! Wilson throws a head kick that misses. Wilson throws a jab when De Sousa was well out of range. Wilson swings away with a body shot that misses
and De Sousa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wilson throws a head kick but De Sousa moves out of range.
De Sousa fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wilson on the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Sousa feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wilsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Pete Wilson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. De Sousa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wilson sprawls well. Wilson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. De Sousa gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo De Sousa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilson throws the left hand but De Sousa avoids the punch easily. Wilson just misses with a punch to the body.

Wilson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wilson wants it to stay on the feet. De Sousa tries for a takedown but Wilson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. De Sousa takes a body punch but keeps moving. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wilson loads up on a big right hand but De Sousa slips the punch. De Sousa takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Ronaldo De Sousa has been cut. De Sousa thows a body shot but no joy. De Sousa stuns Wilson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Wilson misses with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. De Sousa shoots in but no luck this time. De Sousa takes one to the side of the head.
De Sousa looks for a takedown but Wilson sprawls well. De Sousa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wilson. Wilson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. A telegraphed takedown attempt from De Sousa is defended easily by Wilson. Wilson throws a leg kick but De Sousa moved away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Wilson throws a hook but De Sousa avoids it easily. De Sousa shoots in and drives through. Wilson sprawls well. Wilson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by De Sousa. A nice leg kick lands there from Wilson. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Sousa lands with a hook. Wilson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Wilson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

De Sousa shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl out of it but De Sousa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. De Sousa dips to his left and cracks Wilson with an uppercut! De Sousa fails with a takedown attempt. De Sousa fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo De Sousa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and De Sousa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Sousa is pressing down on Wilson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wilson is holding on for now. De Sousa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wilson is just riding it out for now. De Sousa eventually gives up the hold. Wilson is trying to stand up here but De Sousa is controlling him well. Wilson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Sousa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. De Sousa trying to control from half guard but Wilson is working away. De Sousa tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wilson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson wants to get back to full guard. Wilson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Wilson kicks De Sousa off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Wilson as De Sousa shoots in. Pete Wilson seems to be getting the better of the standup. No luck with that takedown attempt from De Sousa. Wilson scores with a leg kick.
Wilson connects with a solid leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Sousa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wilson as he avoids it easily. De Sousa shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl out of it but De Sousa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. De Sousa takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Wilson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. De Sousa fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wilson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
De Sousa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wilson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on De Sousa. That did some damage! Wilson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. De Sousa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
De Sousa lands with a hook. Wilson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Wilson misses with a leg kick. Wilson moves away from the strike by De Sousa. De Sousa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wilson swivels and escapes. De Sousa gets the takedown into side control. Wilson can't do much from the bottom here. De Sousa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wilson has escaped the position, nice work there. Wilson tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. De Sousa taking a break here but Wilson is having none of it and regains half guard. Wilson is refusing to be controlled, as De Sousa sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Sousa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wilson is trying to get back to full guard. De Sousa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wilson defends it well. De Sousa maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Wilson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but De Sousa has cracked it and Wilson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by De Sousa!
