0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Pices! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Serra throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. A left and a right from Serra both land. Nice combination. Pices moves in looking to clinch but Serra pushes him off. Pices doesn't succeed with the takedown and Serra counters with a two punch combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pices takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pices clinches up with Serra and pushes him back against the cage. Serra tries to break free but Pices pushes him back against the cage. Pices is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pices shoots in for a double leg but Serra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Pices showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Serra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
