Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brendan Roll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Flair!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flair gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Roll counters with a head kick.
Roll throws a head kick but Flair moves out of range.
Mike Flair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flair fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roll, pushing him back against the ropes.
Roll jumps guard but Flair turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Flair has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Roll clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roll avoids the strikes from Flair.
The referee is taking a good look at Roll as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Flair!

Flair is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Roll defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Roll just trying to survive but Flair is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Flair is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Roll has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Flair lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Flair is hanging on to Roll's back as he tries to escape.
Flair is trying to stick to Roll's back but Roll is turning into Flair. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Flair's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Roll.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Flair looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Roll trying to control but Flair is working from the bottom.

Flair looking for a guillotine here but Roll defends easily.
Flair wants to stand and escape but Roll is having none of it.
Roll wants to control from the top but Flair keeps moving.

Roll throws a big right hand that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Roll gets tackled into the ropes by Flair. Flair maintains the clinch.
Flair has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Roll avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Flair goes for a takedown attempt but Roll pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Brendan Roll has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Flair.
Flair tries to clinch up but Roll circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Roll keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Flair closes the distance and clinches.
Flair scores with a knee to the head.
Flair is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.
Flair goes for a takedown in the clinch but Roll prevents it.

Roll has Flair pressed against the ropes.
Roll gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Flair.
Flair is trying to drag Roll to the mat but Roll just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Flair decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Roll counters with a head kick that drops Flair!
Flair is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roll stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flair swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Flair being controlled here, momentarily.
Roll passes Flair's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Flair has hold of Roll's hands but Roll slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Roll lands with a punch from half guard.
Flair is not content to let Roll control the position.
Roll is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Flair is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Flair is trying to maintain the position but Roll is very close to passing his half guard.
Roll wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flair keeps working.
Flair is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Roll is looking to take a break and control but Flair is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Brendan Roll just wasn't active enough.
Flair tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Roll blocks a head kick by Flair.
Flair tries to clinch but Roll is having none of it.
Flair tries for a takedown but Roll sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flair shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Roll counters with a nice kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roll stuffs the takedown attempt from Flair. Flair gets slowly back to his feet.
Flair wants to clinch up but Roll keeps it at a distance.

and Roll counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Roll leaves Flair with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Roll connects with a high kick.
Flair takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Flair fails to land the takedown.

Flair moves out of range of the body kick.
Roll lands a nice looking kick to the body. Flair takes a step back to recover.
Roll throws a leg kick which misses Flair's front leg but catches the back leg as Flair tries to avoid it.
Roll throws a head kick that misses.
Flair walks forward, straight into a front kick from Roll.
An inside leg kick lands from Roll.

Roll lands a slapping body shot.
Roll throws a head kick but Flair moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Flair takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Flair shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roll as he jumps to the side.

Roll lands a leg kick that knocks Flair off balance momentarily.

Flair closes the distance and clinches up with Roll, looking for a takedown. Flair pushes Roll against the ropes but Roll circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Roll makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mike Flair is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Roll throws a nice inside leg kick.
Roll throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That kick from Roll tenderised Flair's leg. Flair is trying to keep his angry face on.

Roll throws a sloppy head kick and Flair moves out of range easily.
Roll defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Flair.
Roll pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Roll lands a leg kick that knocks Flair off balance momentarily.
A head kick misses from Roll.
Roll misses with a head kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flair doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Roll connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brendan Roll showed his dominance in that final round.
