5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitchael Young! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Young.
Young fails with the takedown. Thomas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Thomas misses with an uppercut. Young looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Thomas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Young missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Thomas is looking for a sweep. Young is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Young lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Young misses with a head shot. Thomas uses the momentum to regain guard. Young must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Thomas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Young. Thomas is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Young has his hands clasped together but Thomas extends an breaks Young's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Thomas.
