Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Crino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John McNamara!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crino misses with a body shot.
McNamara scores with a decent looking hook.
McNamara just misses with a punch to the body.
McNamara lands a lovely overhand right.
Crino looks to throw the jab but McNamara is out of range.
McNamara scores with a jab to the jaw.
McNamara thows a body shot but no joy.
McNamara thuds a left hand into Crino's body.
McNamara connects with a looping right hand.
McNamara misses with a wild body shot.
McNamara scores with a shot to the body.
McNamara works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McNamara lands an overhand right.
McNamara misses with a wild body shot.
McNamara punishes Crino's body with a nice straight punch.
McNamara misses with an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McNamara misses with a hook.
Crino scores with a shot to the body.
Crino displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McNamara throws out the jab.
Crino ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McNamara moves away.

McNamara will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Crino slips under a jab from McNamara.
Crino throws an overhand right that lands on McNamara's shoulder, as McNamara tries to avoid the shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from McNamara. Crino does a little dance to reset his feet.
McNamara throws out a loose jab but Crino uses good head movement to avoid it.
McNamara fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Crino slips under a jab from McNamara.
McNamara throws a right hand that misses
and Crino counters with a straight right hand.

Crino takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A big left from McNamara misses.
McNamara fails to land with a series of punches.
Crino misses the jab.
McNamara throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A momentary lapse in concentration from McNamara enables Crino to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McNamara manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Crino passes McNamara's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Crino tries to pass the half guard into mount. McNamara knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Crino is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McNamara wants to get back to his feet.

Crino wants to work for an arm triangle but McNamara is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McNamara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crino. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Crino content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crino passes to full mount!
McNamara tries to hold on but Crino postures up.
Crino tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Crino jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McNamara is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McNamara and Crino has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Crino has an Americana. McNamara didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Crino is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Crino hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Michael Crino!
Michael Crino was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
