And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nate Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Cruz blocks a jab.
Cruz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Silva.
Cruz takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Nate Cruz has been cut.
Silva avoids the body shot from Cruz.
Rafa Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva throws a low kick but Cruz avoids it.
Silva thuds his right hand into Cruz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Silva connects with a high kick.
Cruz is rocked!

Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Silva lands a lovely overhand right.
Cruz is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
Cruz blocks a head kick by Silva.
Cruz seems to have recovered his senses.
Silva stuns Cruz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Silva cracks Cruz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cruz blocks the body kick.
Silva throws out a powerful jab.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cruz takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva scores with a nice head shot.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cruz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.
Silva connects with a leg kick. Cruz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cruz fails with the takedown
and Silva counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Silva.
Silva misses with a low kick.
A slow jab from Silva misses its intended target.
Silva jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That has opened up Nate Cruz's cut even more.
Silva stuffs the takedown.
Silva fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cruz checks it well.
Silva lands a brutal head kick. Cruz looks out on his feet and Silva throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
