PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Relentless AD (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Air Canada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Relentless AD!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Air Canada!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canada throws a jab but it's blocked by AD.
Nice defenses there by AD.
AD loads up on a big right hand but Canada slips the punch.
Left hook, right uppercut from Canada.


It looks like Relentless AD has been cut.
Canada displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as AD throws out the jab.
AD throws a lazy right hand but Canada sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Canada fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. AD looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
AD throws a body punch but Canada moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Canada is defended easily by AD.
AD fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Canada cracks AD with a right hand to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Canada swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
AD throws a front kick aimed at Canada's knee but Canada avoids it well.
AD does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Canada looks to land a left hand but AD moved out of range nicely.
AD ducks under a wild hook from Canada.
AD takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Canada throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Canada shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts AD as he jumps to the side.
Canada throws a low kick but it's checked well by AD.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Canada tries to sprawl but AD drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Canada avoiding damage under a succession of punches from AD.
Canada keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

AD is looking for a kimura but Canada is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for AD to get the leverage.
AD has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Canada works his way to full guard. Good work.
AD wants to pass the guard but Canada is keeping the position.
AD passes Canada's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

AD is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Canada is just riding it out for now. AD eventually gives up the hold.
Canada tries to get to full guard but AD has control of the leg.

AD is looking for a kimura here.
AD wants to pass to mount but Canada is defending the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

AD looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
AD throwing shots but Canada is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Air Canada will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Relentless AD's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


AD misses with a leg kick.
Canada thows a body shot but no joy.
Canada stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
AD takes a swing at Canada's ribcage but misses.
AD swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Canada lands with a shot to the body.
A jab from Canada misses.
AD gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Canada tries to work over AD's front leg with a kick but AD checks it.
Canada throws a lazy right hand but AD sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Canada throws a front kick aimed at AD's knee but AD avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
AD ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Canada moves away.
AD lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Canada circles away quickly and effectively.
Canada misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from AD.
AD takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Canada thuds a left hand into AD's body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A low kick from AD misses
enabling Canada to counter with a crisp jab.


AD is rocked!


Relentless AD's cut is getting worse.
Canada knocks out AD with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Canada before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Canada picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Air Canada!
Air Canada very nearly forgot to thank MERKIN FIGHTWEAR amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
