Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stef Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stef Watson! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson with a lazy takedown attempt and Lazarus moves into the clinch. Watson working hard to break the clinch. Lazarus turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lazarus manages to end up in side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Watson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lazarus. Lazarus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watson on the ground. Watson is trying to get back to his feet. Watson regains half guard. Lazarus missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Watson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lazarus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lazarus's back! Lazarus wants to get back to his feet. Lazarus trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lazarus prevents Watson from getting a body triangle. Well, with Watson on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Lazarus is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Lazarus controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. A lull in the action here.

Watson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lazarus kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Watson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Lazarus is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Lazarus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Watson is looking to control Lazarus but Lazarus is wriggling around and keeping busy. Lazarus controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Lazarus up.
Watson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lazarus. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lazarus holding both Watson 's hands and preventing any damage. Watson lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Lazarus.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Even with his hooks in, Watson manages to miss with strikes from the back. A lull in the action here.
Watson lands strikes to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lazarus has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Watson is persistently looking for the submission but Lazarus is defending it well.

Lazarus slaps away a takedown attempt from Watson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lazarus instigates a clinch. Watson pulls guard successfully.

Lazarus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Watson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Watson has escaped and now he's on top! Lazarus wants to stand but Watson is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson wants to control from the top but Lazarus keeps moving. Watson passes Lazarus's left leg - he's now in half guard. Watson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lazarus defends it well. Watson wants to stand but Lazarus has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lazarus is trying to stand back up but Watson is controlling him
Watson is pressing down on Lazarus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lazarus is holding on for now. Watson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Lazarus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Watson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lazarus is in Watson's guard. Lazarus trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Watson trying to keep a closed guard but Lazarus is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lazarus wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving. Watson is looking to stand up but Lazarus isn't so interested in that idea. Lazarus engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Watson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lazarus defends well. Lazarus throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lazarus throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lazarus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lazarus is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Watson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lazarus gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lazarus trying to control the position from guard on top but Watson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stef Watson has got the better of the ground game so far. Watson wants to sweep but no luck. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lazarus is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Watson controls Lazarus momentarily but Lazarus frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jay Lazarus will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Lazarus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lazarus working the ground and pound. A lull in the action here. Watson is trying to get back to half guard. Lazarus working away. Watson is not content to let Lazarus control the position. Lazarus working away. Watson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Check out the look on Lazarus's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Lazarus swings around for an armbar but Watson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lazarus's guard. Watson wants to get up but he can't break Lazarus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Watson slips nicely into half guard. Lazarus is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson moves nicely into side control. Lazarus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lazarus tries to get out of the position. Watson trying to control the action but Lazarus is working from the bottom. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lazarus wants to get back to his feet but Watson is dominant here and he's now got Lazarus's back! Watson trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Lazarus is trying to get back to his feet but Watson has full control of the position and if anything, Lazarus has just worked his way into a worse spot. Watson is looking to control Lazarus but Lazarus is wriggling around and keeping busy. Watson punches the canvas rather than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lazarus looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Watson trying to control momentarily.

Lazarus manages to escape to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Watson throws a nice head kick!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Lazarus. I think Lazarus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
