Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Ros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norifumi Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ros.
Yamamoto lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ros takes a step back to recover.
Ros with a lazy takedown attempt
and Yamamoto counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Some wild striking there from Ros.
Yamamoto slaps away a takedown attempt from Ros, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Ros. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yamamoto throws a head kick that half lands.
Nice body kick there by Yamamoto.
Ros shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yamamoto defends it nicely.
Yamamoto goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ros shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yamamoto as he jumps to the side.
Ros misses with a hook. Yamamoto ducked under it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ros shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Yamamoto counters with a head kick. That will keep Ros thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!


It looks like Tim Ros has been cut.

Yamamoto manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ros on his heels. He'll look to pass Ros's guard now, I'm sure.

Yamamoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ros manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yamamoto has Ros in his guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yamamoto can do anything to dispel that myth.

Yamamoto is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ros has his hands clasped together but Yamamoto extends an breaks Ros's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Yamamoto.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Norifumi Yamamoto!
After winning the bout, Norifumi Yamamoto thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
