Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jon Flanagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvin Abac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Flanagan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvin Abac! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flanagan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Abac's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Abac looking for a guillotine here but Flanagan defends easily.
Abac throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Flanagan escapes and throws Abac's legs to the side, diving into side control! Flanagan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Abac can't do much from the bottom here. Abac sneaks back into half guard. Flanagan performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Flanagan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Abac for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flanagan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Jon Flanagan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Abac misses with a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Abac is defended easily by Flanagan. Abac misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Flanagan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Abac circles away. Flanagan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Flanagan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Abac was well out of range. Poor timing from Flanagan. Abac throws a head kick but Flanagan moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Abac walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Flanagan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Nice body punch from Flanagan. Abac throws a head kick that misses. Flanagan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Abac tries to stall but Flanagan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Flanagan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Abac breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Flanagan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Abac avoids it really well and circles away. Flanagan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flanagan avoids the head kick by Abac.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Flanagan. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Flanagan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Abac throws a head kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abac throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Abac will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

A head kick misses from Abac. Abac throws a lazy head kick and Flanagan counters with a two punch combo. Abac looks gassed! Abac tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Flanagan scores with a jab to the head.

Flanagan scores with a push kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Abac throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Abac walks into a jab. Crunch! Flanagan slams his shin into Abac's torso.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Abac feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Abac wants to stand but Flanagan has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Abac is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Flanagan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jon Flanagan will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Abac leaves Flanagan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Abac misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Flanagan feints a jab promting Abac to slip. Flanagan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Abac slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Abac throws a head kick that Flanagan semi-blocks.
Flanagan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Abac! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flanagan wants to finish this one by submission but Abac is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Flanagan. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flanagan tries to control but Abac wriggling away. Abac tries to get back to half guard but can't. Flanagan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Abac is in all sorts of trouble here.
Abac wants to hold on but Flanagan pushes him away. Abac is trying to escape the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abac swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Flanagan controlling the position easily from mount. Abac is desperately trying to improve his position but Flanagan has a good base and remains in mount. Flanagan controlling the pace for now. Abac is looking to improve his position but Flanagan isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flanagan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Abac throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. BOOM! Flanagan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Abac is looking to get to half guard. Abac is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Flanagan controlling the pace for now. Abac tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flanagan content just to control the position here. Abac swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Abac bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Abac is looking to stand up but Flanagan won't let him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flanagan looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Abac passes into half guard.
Abac wants to get back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Flanagan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Flanagan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Abac tries to score a power double leg takedown but Flanagan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Abac somewhat. Flanagan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Abac throws a lazy head kick and Flanagan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Abac won't be happy with that. Flanagan just content to control the position. Flanagan avoids the strikes from the bottom by Abac. Flanagan is staying tight to Abac's torso, preventing him from escaping. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Abac tries to buck Flanagan off but Flanagan is having none of it. Abac is not content to let Flanagan control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flanagan takes a little break here. Abac wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Abac is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Abac's face as Flanagan controls the position.

Flanagan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Flanagan is pushing Abac up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Flanagan breaks the clinch.

Flanagan is looking to wear down Abac with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Flanagan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Abac doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Flanagan wasn't doing enough on the ground. Abac tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Flanagan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flanagan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Alvin Abac has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Flanagan tries to free his leg and advance position but Abac is retaining full guard. Abac manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Flanagan manages to get himself to full guard.
Jon Flanagan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Abac lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Abac throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Abac throwing strikes from guard but Flanagan blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Abac accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Flanagan showed his dominance in that final round. Well Flanagan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
