Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Lovell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morris has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Lovell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Morris! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morris shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Morris stops Lovell from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lovell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Morris controlling the pace. Lovell looks like he's trying to stand up.
Lovell is looking for a sweep. Morris is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Morris trying to control from half guard but Lovell is working away. Lovell trying to control here.
Morris frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morris wants to finish this one by submission but Lovell is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Morris. Lovell tries to hold on but Morris pushes him away. Morris scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lovell?
Lovell is wriggling around trying to escape.
Morris avoids the attempt from Lovell to control. Morris lands a nice shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morris controlling from the full mount. Lovell wants to hold on but Morris pushes him away. Lovell is in all sorts of trouble here.
Lovell is breathing heavily. Morris stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lovell forces Morris back against the cage and clinches. Lovell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Morris's elbow. Morris lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Morris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lovell's head. Lovell looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Morris seems to be working for a kimura but Lovell defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morris stalling. Morris is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Lovell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lovell is bucking up trying to escape but Morris cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morris controlling his opponent. Morris breaks from Lovell's wrist control and lands an elbow. Morris tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lovell is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Morris locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Lovell is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Morris! Chris Morris gave a mention to Saving Grace Clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
