PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Bilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iron Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bob Bilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iron Man!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurstr�m and Anni Minnem�ki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Man or perhaps it was just good defense by Bilson which made him look bad.
Man on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Bilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Man has Bilson up against the cage in a clinch.
Man jumps guard but Bilson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Man trying to land knees to the body.
Bilson stops a takedown attempt from Man.
Bob Bilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iron Man.

Man manages to break the clinch.
Man looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Man fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bilson misses with a takedown

and Man counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bilson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Bilson wants to sweep but no luck.
Man is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bilson is looking for a triangle here but Man uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Bilson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bilson trying his best to control but Man has mounted him.
Man breaks from Bilson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Man lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Man is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bilson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man avoids the attempt from Bilson to control.
Man lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bilson throwing hammer fists to the chest of Man. What's that going to do exactly?
Bilson working to try and regain half guard.
Bilson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Man tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Man controlling the pace for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bilson is in a horrible position here. Man smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Man is landing with some decent strikes but Bilson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Man sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Man scoring with strikes but Bilson is staying in there.

Man working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Man tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like Man might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Man gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Iron Man dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Man moves out of range of the body kick.
Man looks for a takedown but Bilson sprawls well.
Man tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bilson swivels and escapes.
Bilson misses with a head kick.
Bilson throws a head kick but Man moves out of range.
Bilson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Man moves out of range of the body kick.
Bilson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Man swivels and escapes.
Bilson throws a big shot that misses.

Man gets a clinch.

Man's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Man shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bilson as he jumps to the side.
Bob Bilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iron Man.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bilson wants to clinch.
Bilson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bilson stuffs the takedown attempt from Man. Man gets slowly back to his feet.
Man misses with a body kick.
Man is breathing heavily.
Bilson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Man takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


It looks like Iron Man has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bilson misses with a wild combination.
Bilson connects with a high kick.
Man fails with a takedown attempt.
Bilson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bilson stuns Man with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bilson delivers a nice body kick.
Bilson throws a front kick that sends Man stumbling back into the cage.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bilson, right into the meat.
Man avoids the head kick by Bilson.
Bilson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Bilson tries a head kick but it misses.
Bilson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Man swinging wildly here.
Bilson is looking to clinch but Man is avoiding it.
Man tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bilson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Man shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bilson as he avoids it easily.
Bilson feints a jab promting Man to slip. Bilson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Man slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Bilson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Man swivels and escapes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bilson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Man.
Bilson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Man feints a jab promting Bilson to slip. Man then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bilson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Man pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bob Bilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Man changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bilson tries to avoid it but Man manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bilson to the ground. Bilson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bilson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Man, pushing him back against the cage.
Man jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bilson walks away with a smile on his face. Man gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bilson scoring well with a low kick there.
Bilson throws a sloppy head kick and Man moves out of range easily.

Man shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bilson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Bilson dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Iron Man's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Man dives in and grabs Bilson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bilson pushes down on Man's head and hops out.
Man misses with a low kick.
Bilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bilson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bilson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Man moves into the clinch.

Man has picked Bilson up - he's going for a ride! Man dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Bilson is trying to stand back up but Man is controlling him
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bilson wants to improve his position but Man is controlling well.
Man takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Man is working for a submission of some sort.
Man prevents Bilson from improving his position.
Man looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Man has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Man stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bilson to get to his feet.
Bilson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Man closes the distance and clinches.
Man is trying to pull guard but Bilson has him pressed against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bilson has had enough of the clinch but Man keeps him there for the moment.
Man has Bilson pressed against the cage, preventing Bilson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Bilson is trying to break free.

Man pulls Bilson into guard.
Man is pulling down on Bilson's head to control his posture.

Man wriggles free and stands up.
Bilson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Man darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Man takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bilson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Man content to control rather than advance.
Iron Man has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bilson trying to control here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, if Man is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

Iron Man comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Man has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
