Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drew Turton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve St pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turton comes into the arena with New Noise blaring out of the sound system. Steve St pierre acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Turton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve St pierre! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turton just misses with a punch to the body.
St pierre tries to score with a low kick but Turton moves his leg out of the way. St pierre tries to clinch up but Turton circles away and keeps his distance. St pierre goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Turton tries to clinch and St pierre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Turton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Turton moves into range and clinches up with St pierre. St pierre stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
St pierre is trying to break free. St pierre wants to get back to striking at distance but Turton won't allow it.

Turton is looking to land body kicks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. St pierre swats away the attempt to clinch by Turton. St pierre darts in trying to clinch and Turton counters by moving into the clinch. Turton prevents the takedown attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Turton throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Turton darts in trying to clinch and St pierre moves into the clinch. Turton will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning St pierre up against the cage. Turton landing knees to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turton misses with a knee to the head. Turton manages to break the clinch.

Turton instigates a clinch. St pierre jumps guard but Turton stands there with St pierre around his waist. St pierre gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

St pierre has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Turton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! St pierre trying to control. That was a close round but I would say that Drew Turton will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Turton feints and as St pierre raises his hands in defense, Turton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. St pierre wants to control but Turton passes easily into half guard.
Turton is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. St pierre trying to get back to full guard but Turton takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! St pierre keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Turton wants to clinch and St pierre makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. St pierre shoots in for a takedown but Turton shows good takedown defense. Turton wants to clinch up but St pierre keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Turton clinches up against the cage. Turton prevents a takedown attempt there.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. St pierre dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Turton. That did some damage! St pierre avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
St pierre circles away from the clinch attempt and St pierre makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Turton lands with a kick to the temple. St pierre shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Drew Turton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from St pierre misses and Turton counters with a leg kick. Turton is fighting it off but St pierre persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Turton's guard against the cage. Turton pushes St pierre off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Turton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Turton decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
