Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Holmes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Schilling!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes misses with a few strikes there.
Holmes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schilling pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Schilling. Those never looked like landing.
Schilling misses with an uppercut.
Holmes scores with a sloppy right hand. Schilling should have avoided that one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Holmes. Schilling does a little dance to reset his feet.
Schilling cracks Holmes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Schilling tries to close the distance and clinch but Holmes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Holmes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schilling pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Some wild striking there from Holmes.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Holmes, as that shot connected.
Holmes tests Schilling's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Holmes misses with a jab to the body
and Schilling counters with a body kick that stops Holmes in his tracks momentarily.
Schilling misses with a hook.
Holmes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Holmes looks to throw the jab but Schilling is out of range.
Holmes thows a body shot but no joy.
Holmes misses with the combination.
Holmes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Schilling has time to react.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Holmes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Holmes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schilling moves away.
Nice combo by Schilling! Oh, that's hurt him - Holmes falls to the canvas and Schilling follows him into side control.
Holmes is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schilling stands up and beckons Holmes to his feet.
Oh Holmes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schilling moves in close and cracks Holmes with a massive right hand! Holmes, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Schilling!
