Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Todd Flanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paulo Mendosa!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flanders throws a solid leg kick but Mendosa takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Flanders.
Danga de danga de dang - Mendosa scores with a four punch combination!
Mendosa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Flanders.
Mendosa throws an overhand right that lands on Flanders's shoulder, as Flanders tries to avoid the shot.
Flanders throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mendosa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Paulo Mendosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendosa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mendosa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mendosa fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Flanders on the side of the head.
Mendosa pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Flanders throws a leg kick but Mendosa sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Flanders throws out a leg kick but Mendosa moves out of range and Flanders only half commits.
Mendosa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Flanders ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendosa moves away.
Mendosa looks to throw the jab but Flanders is out of range.
Mendosa is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Flanders steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mendosa.
Flanders throws a nice outside leg kick.
Flanders looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Flanders moves forwards but Mendosa connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Flanders misses with a low kick as Mendosa jumps back.
Flanders swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mendosa.
Mendosa misses with an uppercut.
Flanders fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mendosa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Flanders throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mendosa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nice jab there from Flanders.
Flanders throws a head kick that misses.
Mendosa wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A head kick misses from Flanders.
Flanders throws a chopping leg kick but Mendosa manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Todd Flanders is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Flanders chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mendosa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mendosa misses with a hook. Flanders ducked under it nicely.
Flanders throws a leg kick that misses.

Mendosa throws a hook but Flanders avoids it easily.
Jab, jab by Mendosa - just one landing.
Flanders throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Flanders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mendosa takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Flanders keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mendosa walks into a jab.
A clash of legs there as Mendosa blocks the low kick.
Mendosa might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mendosa throws a poor cross that misses
and Flanders counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mendosa's knee momentarily.
No luck for Mendosa with that takedown attempt.

Flanders throws a sloppy head kick and Mendosa moves out of range easily.
Mendosa throws an off balance right hand
and Flanders counters with a head kick. That will keep Mendosa thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Mendosa scores with the left hand. Flanders knows he should have avoided that one.
Mendosa takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mendosa throws the left hand but Flanders avoids the punch easily.
Both fighters circling a little - Flanders finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Flanders throws a leg kick which misses Mendosa's front leg but catches the back leg as Mendosa tries to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flanders gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mendosa is fighting to break Flanders's control of his arms but Flanders is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Todd Flanders dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Mendosa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Flanders thinking.

Flanders tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Mendosa misses with a hook.
No joy there for Mendosa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Flanders pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mendosa is out of range and Flanders settles back down.
Flanders lands with a nice body kick.
Flanders uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mendosa.

Mendosa misses with a hook. Flanders ducked under it nicely.
Flanders bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mendosa's head backwards.
Flanders moves away from the strike by Mendosa.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mendosa. Flanders does a little dance to reset his feet.
Flanders walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mendosa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Mendosa looks to land a combination but Flanders avoids it well.
Mendosa wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Flanders bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Flanders throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mendosa's head.
Mendosa throws a hook but Flanders avoids it easily.
Flanders is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Flanders throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mendosa on the side of the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mendosa looks to land a combination but Flanders avoids it well.
Flanders walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Mendosa avoids the body shot from Flanders.
Flanders slips under a jab.
Mendosa thows a body shot but no joy.
Mendosa misses with an uppercut
and Flanders counters with a slapping leg kick.
Mendosa's corner calls for a 1-2. Mendosa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Flanders blocks a jab.
Flanders throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mendosa.
A swing and a miss from Mendosa.
Flanders tries to land a front kick but Mendosa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mendosa throws out a loose jab but Flanders uses good head movement to avoid it.
Flanders connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Mendosa throws a poor cross that misses
and Flanders counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Mendosa is rocked!
Flanders cracks Mendosa on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Mendosa falls backwards against the cage. Flanders follows up with more strikes that drop Mendosa to his knees. Flanders keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Mendosa! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Todd Flanders!
