Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fortune Cookie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlo Spider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cookie comes to the cage accompanied by Chinese Rap. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spider shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cookie as he jumps to the side.
Cookie keeps the fight on the outside.
Nice sprawl there from Cookie as Spider shoots in.

Spider moves into the clinch successfully.

Spider gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Cookie moves into full guard.
Spider preventing the sweep.
Spider trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cookie wants to sweep but no luck.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cookie is on top in guard.
Cookie stands up over Spider, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Cookie gets to his feet. Spider looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cookie stalks Spider and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Spider's face. Spider staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Karlo Spider has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cookie uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Cookie misses with an attempted mid kick.
Spider shoots for a double leg takedown but Cookie sprawls well. He's pushed Spider's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fortune Cookie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlo Spider.
Spider looks gassed!
Spider closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cookie circles away.

Cookie forces Spider back against the cage and clinches.

Cookie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spider changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cookie tries to avoid it but Spider manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cookie to the ground. Cookie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Spider gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Spider tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Spider has his foot on Cookie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cookie works his way back into a safe position though.
Spider manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cookie manages to get himself to full guard.
Cookie doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cookie is on top in guard.

Spider has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cookie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cookie distracts Spider with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Spider has a closed guard, preventing Cookie from standing up.
Cookie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spider is keeping the position for now.
Cookie wants to control from the top but Spider keeps moving.
Spider utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Spider is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Spider looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cookie's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Cookie duly obliges.
Cookie lands with a shot to the body.

Spider swings for the body but Cookie moves out of range.
Fortune Cookie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A right-left combo lands from Cookie.
Cookie throws a series of punches but Spider avoids them all with ease.
Cookie throws a right hand that Spider ducks under and follows up with a left that Spider also avoids with ease.
Spider avoids a kick to the body.
Spider fails with the takedown.

Cookie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spider looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Spider manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cookie trying to mount his opponent but Spider defends it.

Spider makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Spider.

Spider looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cookie throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cookie lands with a nice body punch.
Spider doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cookie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Spider's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cookie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cookie lands a couple of digs.
Cookie pushes down on Spider's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Spider is refusing to be controlled, as Cookie sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cookie thows a body shot but no joy.
Spider tries to clinch but Cookie is having none of it.

Spider shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cookie's guard.
Spider wants to control from the top but Cookie keeps moving.
Spider loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Spider stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cookie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Spider is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Spider must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Spider scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cookie wants to stand and escape but Spider is having none of it.
Spider trying to control the position from guard on top but Cookie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Spider wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Cookie's closed guard. He's half up but Cookie has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Cookie pivots and extends the arm, Spider falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Cookie! Well done that man!
