Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joey West! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck Liddle! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West darts in and clinches Liddle up against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Liddle as West tries to tie him up. Liddle is trying to pull guard but West has him pressed against the cage. West throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Liddle has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics West uses from the top position. Liddle has a closed guard, preventing West from standing up. Liddle keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. Liddle working for a triangle but West defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddle looks gassed! Liddle keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. West trying to stand up but can't free himself from Liddle's guard.

West wants to control from the top but Liddle keeps moving. Liddle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. West doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. West manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. West got a little sloppy there for a moment and Liddle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, West has managed to get both his arms back between Liddle's legs - danger averted. West knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Liddle on the ground. West trying to control the position from guard on top but Liddle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Liddle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and West defends well. West wanted to stand there but Liddle had control of the position. West pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Liddle is keeping the position for now. Liddle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Liddle is looking for a triangle but West pushes his legs off easily.

Chuck Liddle dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Liddle has his takedown stuffed and West counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Liddle! West content just to control the position here. BOOM! West connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. West lands with some strikes. West has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Liddle's face.
West trying to control but he's not successful this time. Liddle gets back to half guard. Liddle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but West pulls his head out easily. It looks like West is going to stand back up.

West is aware though and is defending well. Liddle keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! West tries to free his leg and advance position but Liddle is retaining full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joey West. Liddle shoots in for a double leg but West sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. West shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Liddle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. West lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. West defends it easily. Liddle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. West gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. West drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and West jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Liddle has his feet on West's thighs here. He's pushed West off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! West screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chuck Liddle! Chuck Liddle took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
