Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hessu Hopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Block Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bodies. Liddell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Slayer - Raining Blood kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hessu Hopo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Block Liddell! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopo throws a body punch but Liddell moves out of range. Liddell scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Liddell goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Liddell misses the shot to the body. Some bone on bone action there as Hopo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Liddell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hopo's calf. Hopo connects with a looping right hand.
Hopo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Liddell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hopo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Liddell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hopo somewhat. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Liddell, right into the meat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Liddell thows a body shot but no joy. Hopo avoids the head kick by Liddell.

Hopo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Liddell was well out of range. Poor timing from Hopo. Hopo dodges the punch combination from Liddell.

That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Liddell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hopo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Liddell. Hopo avoids the body shot from Liddell.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hopo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hessu Hopo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hopo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Liddell. Liddell obviously looking to wear him down.

Liddell missing with a left hand there. Hopo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Liddell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Hopo thows a body shot but no joy. Liddell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
This has been an exciting period of action! Liddell explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. An inside leg kick lands from Liddell. Hopo looks to land a combination but Liddell avoids it well. Hopo is breathing heavily. Hopo throws a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hopo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Hopo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Hopo lands a head shot. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hopo. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Liddell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Liddell lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hopo will feel that in the morning. Hopo throws a hook but Liddell blocks it. Liddell scores with a head kick. Hopo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Hessu Hopo has been cut. Liddell fails to land with a series of punches.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hopo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Liddell - the referee stops the clock and Hopo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Liddell. Hopo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Liddell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hopo throws a body kick that misses. Hopo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Liddell. Liddell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hopo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hopo showed some decent athleticism there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell controlling the position well. Liddell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hopo is working away from the top position though. Hopo thows a huge punch but Liddell dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hopo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Liddell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Liddell is refusing to be controlled, as Hopo sits in half guard. Liddell tries to roll over but Hopo keeps him under control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Liddell missing with a left hand there. Hopo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A nice leg kick lands there from Hopo. Hopo tries to land a front kick but Liddell steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hopo throws a series of punches but Liddell moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Block Liddell dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hessu Hopo's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hopo lands a nice looking body shot.

A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Hopo throws a front kick aimed at Liddell's knee but Liddell avoids it well. Block Liddell seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hopo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopo throws a right hand that Liddell ducks under and follows up with a left that Liddell also avoids with ease. Liddell attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Liddell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hopo.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hopo wants to take a breather but Liddell is having none of it. Hopo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hopo prevents Liddell from improving his position. Liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hopo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are battling for position here. Liddell manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hopo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hopo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell controls Hopo momentarily but Hopo frees himself. Hopo slips nicely into half guard. Hopo moves into full mount! Liddell won't be happy about that! Liddell in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Hopo misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hopo cracks Liddell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hopo is trying to control the action in half guard but Liddell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hopo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Liddell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hopo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hopo is looking to score with low kicks. Liddell lands a nice hook to Hopo's body. Hopo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Horrible takedown by Hopo or perhaps it was just good defense by Liddell which made him look bad. Nice body punch from Liddell. Hopo misses with a wild body shot. Liddell walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hopo shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Liddell eats them both and turns towards Hopo to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Liddell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hopo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Block Liddell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hopo throws the left hand but Liddell avoids the punch easily. Hopo fails in his attempt to clinch. Liddell swings away with a leg kick that misses. Hopo misses the shot to the body. Hopo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Jab from Liddell.

Hopo scores with a hook to the body. Liddell takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Hopo moves out of range as Liddell throws a body kick.
Liddell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hopo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Liddell moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hopo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hopo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Hopo just misses with a punch to the body.

A looping hook to the body misses from Liddell. Hopo does a little dance to reset his feet. Hopo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Nice body punch from Liddell. Liddell lands with a thumping leg kick.
Liddell will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell jabs Hopo to the body, keeping him at a distance. Liddell feints and then cracks Hopo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hopo down. Hopo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Liddell keeping moving, preventing Hopo from controlling successfully. Liddell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hopo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hopo wants to control from the top but Liddell keeps moving. Hopo stands up over Liddell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hopo passes into half guard. Hopo is taking a breather. Liddell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hopo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Liddell is looking to get to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Block Liddell. I think Liddell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
