The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holliday tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sonnen was well out of range. Poor timing from Holliday.
Sonnen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Holliday counters with a two punch combo.
Holliday misses the shot to the body.
Sonnen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Holliday connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sonnen. Sonnen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sonnen falls off balance throwing a combination
and Holliday counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Holliday slips a jab and a cross from Sonnen.
Sonnen throws a series of strikes that have Holliday backpedaling.
It looks like Doc Holliday has been cut.
Holliday lands a jab to Sonnen's midsection.
Chael Sonnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Sonnen. Those never looked like landing.
Sonnen misses with a few strikes there.
Holliday throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Holliday paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Holliday connects with a looping right hand.
Sonnen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Holliday counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sonnen looks gassed!
Holliday bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Holliday lands a left and a right that send Sonnen crashing to the mat, dazed. Holliday thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Sonnen is rocked!
Holliday circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Sonnen tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Holliday wins by KO!
