Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Devlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Tapisht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tapisht's choice of entrance music: Evanescence: Bring Me To Life. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonathan Devlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Tapisht!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devlin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Devlin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tapisht swats away the attempt to clinch by Devlin.
A looping hook to the body misses from Devlin. Tapisht does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tapisht keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Devlin doesn't manage to clinch there - Tapisht circles away.
Devlin throws a series of strikes that have Tapisht backpedaling.
Devlin tries to clinch up but Tapisht circles away and keeps his distance.

Devlin moves into the clinch.
Tapisht jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Devlin walks away with a smile on his face. Tapisht gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Devlin forces Tapisht back against the cage and clinches.
Tapisht prevents a body shot from Devlin.
Devlin lands a body shot in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Devlin connects with a knee to the head.
Tapisht is working for takedown but Devlin is calmly controlling the position for now.
Devlin lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Devlin pushes off an throws an elbow but Tapisht leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Devlin lands an elbow inside.
Devlin stops a takedown attempt from Tapisht.
Jonathan Devlin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Tapisht.
Devlin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Devlin lands an elbow just above Tapisht 's eye.
Devlin tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Devlin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tapisht is defending well for now.
Devlin misses with a knee to the head.
Devlin cracks Tapisht with a nice body shot.
Devlin lands a hook that snaps the head of Tapisht backwards.
Tapisht is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Devlin pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Devlin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Devlin pushes off an throws an elbow but Tapisht leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Devlin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tapisht is defending well for now.

Devlin putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Tapisht in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Devlin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tapisht is defending well for now.
Devlin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Devlin tries to land knees in the clinch but Tapisht avoids the damage to the body.

Devlin creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Devlin landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Devlin utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Tapisht blocks an uppercut.
Devlin misses with a knee to the head.
Devlin lands a good knee to the midsection. Tapisht won't want to take too many of those.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Devlin.
Tapisht is looking for a takedown.

Tapisht is looking to take this one to the mat.
Tapisht looks gassed!
Devlin prevents the takedown attempt.
Devlin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Tapisht has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Devlin regains guard immediately.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Tapisht stops Devlin from standing up.
Tapisht not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Devlin keeping full guard, as Tapisht tries to pass.
Devlin is looking to stand up but Tapisht isn't so interested in that idea.
Devlin keeping moving, preventing Tapisht from controlling successfully.

Tapisht loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tapisht missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Tapisht is standing up over Devlin. Devlin looks to escape but Tapisht dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tapisht is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Devlin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Devlin bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Devlin gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Devlin lands an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Devlin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Devlin moves into range and clinches up with Tapisht.
Devlin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tapisht.
Devlin lands a right hand.
Devlin taking a breather.
Nice elbow from Devlin.
Nice body punch from Devlin - that landed with a thud.
A nice right hand lands inside from Devlin.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Devlin.
Tapisht is looking to take this one to the mat.
Devlin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Tapisht avoids it.
Devlin lands a knee to the body.
Devlin misses with an elbow strike.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Devlin misses with a hook from the clinch.
Devlin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Devlin struggles to land a body shot inside as Tapisht controls his hands.
Tapisht on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Devlin creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Devlin lands a left hand.


Tapisht is rocked!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Devlin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Tapisht is still on wobbly legs! Can Devlin finish him?
Devlin scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Devlin lands an elbow inside that Tapisht shrugs off.
Tapisht is pressed against the cage. Devlin pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Tapisht! Two more big strikes from Devlin and Tapisht crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jonathan Devlin!
