Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Burrows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cross comes to the cage accompanied by Man in the Box - Alice in Chains. Ryan Burrows has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dexter Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Burrows!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Burrows, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Burrows throws a series of punches but Cross moves out of range.
Cross shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burrows as he jumps to the side.
Cross throws a lazy right hand but Burrows sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cross fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burrows, pushing him back against the cage.
Cross stops a takedown attempt from Burrows.
Cross lands a body punch in the clinch.
Burrows has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cross avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Burrows is trying to drag Cross to the mat but Cross just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dexter Cross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Burrows.
Cross pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Burrows.
Burrows throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Burrows misses with a jab, cross combination.
Burrows looks gassed!
Burrows keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice takedown defense from Burrows. No joy for Cross on that attempt.
Ryan Burrows seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cross fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cross moves out of range as Burrows strikes.
Cross delivers a nice body kick.
Cross is looking to clinch.
Cross shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Burrows defends it nicely.
Cross looks for a takedown but Burrows sprawls well.
Cross wants to clinch up but Burrows keeps it at a distance.

Cross looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cross passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Burrows!
Burrows looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
A lull in the action here.
Cross thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Cross is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Burrows defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Cross struggling to keep hold of the position.
Burrows rolls, trying to escape but Cross keeps control of the position.
Cross working for a choke but Burrows is defending well.
Cross trying to control momentarily.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Cross controlling the positon.
Cross sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Burrows taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dexter Cross!
After winning the bout, Dexter Cross thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
